This year during Miami Swim Week we had a special opportunity to join K8 Swimwear on the rooftop of the Gale hotel for the World Cup Final, brunch, and beautiful women sporting Kate’s latest line. Kate is a Massachusetts native, born in Cape Cod, but has lived in Miami long enough to know beach is life. Cape Cod beaches are actually pretty great too, during the summer that is.
Kate is a passionate designer, who loves what she does, and takes a creative & inspired approach in her design process. Her main focus is, “a celebration of the female form,” and for women to embrace their bodies & to love thyself. An important message that resonates with women’s empowerment, and helps to shift the focus of the fashion industry. It was obvious, even in her casting for her runway show, that K8 swimwear believes in body positivity & diversity.
Take a look at our gallery from brunch with K8. Special thanks to Kate, her family, the homie Pat, and the models.

Brunch with K8:
Although we had a great experience attending some of the runway shows at Miami Swim Week, one of the more interesting elements of any fashion week is actually off the runway. The fashion show creates the high energy environment of fashion week, giving designers the opportunity to “strut their stuff,” selecting music and models to fit the mood of their line and trend, but off the runway is where the real moves are being made.
For designers, networking, meeting photographers, models, and most importantly buyers is critical to the business and the fashion industry at large. K8 hosted a little brunch action with lite bites and mimosas for everyone who attended and gave us an inside look at her process and her swimwear line for SS19. Her vailed swim suit was a big hit on the runway at Faena Forum, with the models she had sporting them for the brunch made it look even better.
